Sleet has started in Huntsville
Nothing outside… I’m just south of 72 and just east of 65.Any reports out of the Athens Al area? Looks like a decent band on radar
Where's this?Seems like it started a little earlier than they were forecasting. We’ve been getting a good bit of sleet starting to mix with snow over the last 30 minutes or so. It’s starting to stick some. My car is iced over pretty good though.
Take that back… sleeting pretty good right now. No snow as of yet.Nothing outside… I’m just south of 72 and just east of 65.

Florence, AL. It’s ripping now. Roads are covered well side road in front of the house it. Ground is really turning white but we are still dealing with some sleet.Where's this?
Yeah that is pretty cool. Speaking of cool lol. Did notice some cooler cloud tops showing up IR just south of me. Looks to be some subtle rain returns...8pm. Check the banding back to the west. Fun stuff.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. That banding you highlighted on radar has to be sleet to get those returns I assume.A total snow lover thing to say - but the sledding in TN, N/AL and N/MS tomorrow is going to be EPIC. Snow on top of a layer of sleet? Ridiculously fast sledding. I'm just saying.
Mesoscale banding. When those get cranking, it can pretty drastically increase rain, sleet or snow amounts. Bright yellow is either sleet or rain. With all the reports of snow where it is hitting already, I would bet mostly sleet. Still messy. Mother nature is going to throw us some curve balls tonight I believe. NW MS is in for quite a ride for sure.Yeah I was thinking the same thing. That banding you highlighted on radar has to be sleet to get those returns I assume.
