At least Huntsville and Madison County schools are off for Spring Break this week so no need for a snow day in the Rocket City.
This is absolutely going to catch everybody off guard if we get a inch of snow.

Numerous Freeze Warnings are in effect across the South tonight. At least they are not Extreme Cold Warnings.

On the backside of today’s severe weather risk in the middle of May is snow in the Rocky Mountains.

Across the Atlantic, the GFS has had cold air and snow streamers dipping south but no ensemble agreement at this certain moment.

Yeah December might hold a surprise or two. I was looking back at Mississippi snowstorms this morning and the biggest December snow occurred in 1963 with 18 inches around Marshall and Tunica Counties. 1963 was a Moderate El Nino. Then December 1997, you had the surprise 8 inch snow event across portions of Central MS. Plus December 2009, you had another snow event across parts of Louisiana into Central MS. All 3 of these events were during El Ninos.
