Winter Weather Season 2025-26

Oh didn't even know there was a thread lol
I would HIGHLY recommend "watching" and enabling email notifications for the following page:

Any time someone created a new thread here (winter, severe, etc), you will get notified :) You can also enable notifications for when there is a reply you have not read. Be careful with those because I have had PAGES of email notifications while keeping up during busy severe events.

(Side note: You will only receive notifications when there is an unread reply. You will not get an email for every single reply UNLESS you are actively reading lol). In any case, would recommend turning those notifications on, 10/10.

Looks like a bit of potential for the TN and Ohio Valleys around the 4th.
That's what I love about this site. Squeeze every drop of juice out of the slightest suggestion by literally ANY weather model showing weird weather for an area and when it doesn't happen...ON TO THE NEXT ONE!

I mean......that's what forums like this is for.

Does it sometimes get carried away in the wintertime? Probably. But it's not near as bad as it used to be before a certain group of members left to start their own site.

I just don't see a problem.

I didn't call it a problem. I was just saying what it is.

6z gfs to 00z gfs has some form of freezing rain in my region, I really hope this isn't becoming a trend the snow melt/ice jam flooding alone will suck once we get above freezing again and we do not need power outages to top it off

The 00z GFS from Thursday had it as well. 6z today has hints of it (though further south) and even the 00z Euro is picking it out

Flurries incoming. (current)

Been watching that. Was wondering if the surface is too dry to reach the ground in MBY. Dewpoint depression is about 13 currently.
Yeah, I've not seen any ground truth on any of those.
