Winter Weather Season 2025-26

What happened to all the traffic in this forum ? I know this time last year there were tons of people posting. :(
A lack of fluffy white stuff.

More and more ensemble members - it is certainly convinced it is seeing something.

Hmm. That's interesting. It's not that the ECMWF says no, it says later and SE.

Looks like the GFS is all in and the EURO is inching ?
Yep. Euro thinks moisture is coming up out of the Gulf for what it sees happening in SE GA, and that has my attention. Pieces arranging on the board. Worth sniffing around. ;)

GFS trend ain’t bad, ain’t good, but we’re going to have to thread the needle in central AL for a dusting most likely

Timing, placement of the low/perturbance in the gulf, amount of WAA, where the moisture plume sets up - lots of variables in play, but the ECMWF and GFS models as of now think south GA and N FL. 06 Euro is later - Monday. Has the gulf disturbance not move onshore until after the front passage. Way south.

Snow in Savannah would be cool to see.

12z GFS is a little faster with the upper air support and a little warmer at the surface - shifting the main precipitation axis south and shifting the moisture and cold out of phase, at least for AL. Timing is going (as always) be key here.

I went ahead and added potential for at least snow flurries Sunday for North MS in my weather text this morning regardless. Just to play it safe.

Definitely hoping for some snow, but if this solution holds out, ATL metro will be lucky to get anything other than a dusting.
