Winter Weather 2025

Roads look okay in most pics. Anyone in Huntsville-Decatur have a guess on whether schools will close, again, tomorrow? Wondering whether I will be working from home and am way south of there with nothing.
None too sure, the roads have been good today & they might pull the trigger since it'll get very cold tonight but I am preparing that they will not. I can't imagine this being worse than a rain before a freezing cold front.

We got maybe 1" here on the best accumulating surfaces, turned out we had a fun hike, got to play in the snow, throw balls AND find fossils!

We’ve had pretty consistent flurries of dry snow here in Cullman all morning. Some big flakes mixed in. At least it’s a dry snow, so it’s blowing around in the wind.
My parents in pinson have been getting a light snow for a little bit. I'm wondering if some areas will get some very light dustings

Man, seeing those blizzard warnings when it was so warm yesterday was so wild.

So far it's looking like not a ton of snow up southern MN, where I'm hoping to drive on I-90 tomorrow, so fingers crossed that it stays at the low end of predictions. I'm not in the blizzard area here--basically where I want to go is just beyond the western edge of the blizzard warnings, and I'm just beyond the eastern edge, heh. But anyway, we're getting some good rain and thunder. The sky had that really ominious look this morning before the thunder started, but now it's back to just kind of a normal spring rain storm. We had originally been predicted to get some snow, but it looks like temperatures are going to stay above that now and we'll be getting maybe some sleet instead. Ew. Maybe some snow tonight though? I'm ready to be done with snow for the year, even though it's been a pretty mild winter.

We managed right at an inch with a low of 25 here this morning.

Puts me at 21.1" on the season which is the best in a while and particularly impressive with the lack of big events. My biggest storm of the year was only 5.5".

While the focus is on severe weather, northern Michigan had a very bad ice storm last weekend. Some areas got an inch of ice and the Mackinaw Bridge was closed due to falling ice. I was going to take a vacation at Mackinac Island in May but I hear there is a lot of tree damage on the island and am not sure if I am going to get to go.

Awww, that stinks. Mackinac is so pretty. I hope you're able to go.

It snowed a fair bit here today, but thankfully the ground was too warm for it to accumulate. I'm very ready to be done with snow for a while.
