Yeah, "fun". I got cold drizzle in my snow nose.Hola from Northwest Arkansas. I can verify the snow is real and yes we are in the sweet spot for around 10 inches. LOL Y'all have fun down in Alabama.
I'm also in SW Blount but work in Decatur. I'm expecting a work from home day tomorrow and hopefully no travel issues for my wife, who works in downtown Birmingham.I live in southwest Blount county, hoping for a little snow for my drive into work at 5 am.
BoooooYeah, "fun". I got cold drizzle in my snow nose.![]()
Drizzle-filled Snow Nose is never fun. Hopefully it shapes up and gives you some snow.Yeah, "fun". I got cold drizzle in my snow nose.![]()
Just noticed this. I'm not sure what the RAP is on, but whatever it is, I like it. Looking back at the last 5 or 6 runs, it's been consistent. However, I'm not buying the high end totals as much as I want too because there's really not another forecast model that shows this. It does add further consideration though as I can see how this happens especially if the cold air moves in before everything starts up.A friend sent me a screenshot of the RAP as it's starting to fill in. Looks like pretty hefty amounts through northern Mississippi through northwest Alabama. Not sure on reliability with it though.
Interesting that these streaks on both models are forming right over the same areas of Mississippi. Hopefully that trend will continue west.18Z HRRR picking up on a little (VERY little) bit of that increase in MS. Nothing in N/Cen AL to the TN border though except far west.

Looks like the NAM may be starting to pick up on it as well.Interesting that these streaks on both models are forming right over the same areas of Mississippi. Hopefully that trend will continue west.
My son is so excited he wants to go up to the hill behind the house tomorrow to play in the snow and look for fossils. Poor little guy doesn't realize how difficult that would be xD gonna be one or the other. I'm thinking we'll be lucky to get a decent dusting and combing through rocks will be on the agenda. Hope I'm wrong though, this'll be a wait and see for our area.It looks like most north Alabama school systems are closing tomorrow.
It's going to be awfully cold to do some fossil digging! My son is so excited he wants to go up to the hill behind the house tomorrow to play in the snow and look for fossils. Trends have been fairly better than a few days ago but not convincing, although this season has had a favorable pattern. Not biting though.
I've been seeing a light dusting for Oktibbeha county and then the RAP comes in and dumps 5+ inches on us.RAP definitely more aggressive.
