Well, these Australian bushfires have been burning since 2019, but we'll probably need a 2020 wildfire thread later in the year anyway for the US (sigh). Also, per this story, Australia's call-up of 3,000 reserves is the first in the country's history for such a purpose. It's bad down there right now.

I didn't know until now that all Australian firefighters are volunteer.

And 41 American firefighters are in Victoria now, reportedly.

That's from the 3rd; they have gotten a break with a bit cooler temps and some light rain but are expecting more hazardous conditions to return later this week.
