Welcome Back to TalkWeather

First, I'd like to say that I'm happy to see this place is up and running again; though it seems I cannot get my old account back (it was not linked to Facebook, so I doubt it still remains).

Anyway, it seems that I am having problems getting resized images into my signature. I can get the basic image in it, but I doubt anybody wants to see three 480 x 360 sized files in my sig, do they?

Glad to have you back! So in the transition we lost all the existing connections to facebook login. You can still link to your new TW account using External Accounts menu when you mouse over your name near your alert and inbox menu at the top right hand side of the screen.

As for the signature, shoot me a pm and we will figure out how to resize it. I'm still learning some tricks myself.

Yay! Just like the good old days and so happy to be back. Now all that's left is hopefully finding backups for the old threads... of which I still have the three big ones (April 27, strongest tornadoes, and significant tornado events) stored offline to send whenever I have half decent internet.

Wes,

Is it possible to add an auto refresh to the forum?

I'll look into it. If you subscribe to a thread you get an alert that will pop up once a new post is made.

Great to be back! I wasn't really a frequent poster; I just showed up for outbreaks and sometimes posted in the Significant Tornadoes thread, but I visited TalkWeather daily for a long time. I had given up checking on the site a few weeks after it went down and checked again a few days ago on a whim.

Welcome back!

Any luck recovering posts from the old site? I found the threads I'd saved and archived in 2013. I have the 4/27/11, OKC May 2013, El Reno 2013, Joplin, Significant Tornado Events, and Strongest Tornado threads through mid 2013, latter two updated in 2014. I will put them in a zip file or something and upload to a server somewhere for someone with web hosting to take a look through; there's a couple GB of pages and images.

I do hope the old posts are somehow saved, though, and my contributions are unnecessary.

I didn't post much, but man, have I ever missed TW. Thanks so much for getting it back up and running.
Glad to have you back John!

I was just going to ask the same thing, particularly the Significant Tornado Events thread. I was going to restart the thread but I wasn't sure what the status was re: recovering it. Shame if we lose all the information there - it really evolved into a great resource.

Actually lets hold off of on restarting that thread. I would like to take a look at @Equus files and see if we can do anything with those. Equus shoot me an email at [email protected]

Thanks Wes, hopefully at least some of the thread can be salvaged. Please let us know whenever you get a chance. If the thread (or part of it) can't be restored, I still have most of the info & photos I'd posted there and I can work on re-posting as much as I can.

Thanks to all who helped get Talkweather back on its feet. It's great to see it survive after all these years!
Glad you're with us Daniel, you did a lot in the past to make the site awesome! I imagine you've had a busy few weeks at the NWS!!
