Last night there was significant flash flooding in Tuscaloosa particularly in the area of McFarland Blvd at the Best Western University Inn. A friend got some shots of that hotel (where he was staying), looks like a lot of insurance calls tomorrow!

We had some pretty severe flash flooding last night. Back building storms with an airmass that has 2+ inch PWATS usually spell trouble in the summer...and we seemed due for our annual severe summer flood. NWS Birmingham was a day late and dollar short with their flash flood warning when it was evident they needed one at least an hour before they issued it.

It was pretty widespread around town too.
