A survey team from the National Weather Service office in Peachtree
City GA determined the damage in and near Conyers in Rockdale County
that occurred late evening on April 2nd was due to a EF-2 tornado

are still be collected and a final preliminary report will be issued
later tonight or Thursday.

Another survey team in Crisp County is still investigating damage.

The NWS and Houston County Emergency Management are also

WSB has a map of the Conyers tornado damage survey, does anyone know where they got that from? It looks like an NWS map, but I can't find anything on FFC's site.

Perfect, thank you!

Quite the outbreak, considering neither April 1 or 2 performed as expected!

I think it's just a testament to how far the meteorological community has come as far as documenting tornadoes goes. If this event had happened 40+ years ago I'd be willing to bet 25% or less of those tornadoes would have been documented and surveyed.

So our "tornado" in Whitley County Kentucky was actually confirmed as straight line wind damage of 90 mph and the storm had a book-end vortex on it. People still swear it was a tornado. Would any of you knowledgeable folks explain more about what a book-end vortex is?
