Here we go, a new thread dedicated to past and present significant tornadic events around the globe! Anything outside the USA and Canada goes here, so we can keep track of the many tornadoes occurring around the world without them being lost in the discussions on American and Canadian tornadoes.

An example of a historic intense tornado in Australia, the 9/27/1911 Marong Australia tornado. A battery building was completely destroyed with debris being carried for miles, a weatherboard house was nearly leveled with only a small portion of one wall left standing.

I am also pretty sure that is the first picture of a tornado in Australia.

One of the most notable tornado events in Australian history was the 11/29/1992 Queensland tornado outbreak.

The first intense tornado of this event was the Oakhurst F3. While it only got an F3 rating it apparently produced some impressive vegetation damage.

The highest-rated tornado of the day was the Bucca F4. At least 9 homes were damaged or destroyed. A fridge went missing weeks after the tornado, and a 3-ton truck body was carried 300 meters. This tornado also supposedly produced grass scouring according to an eyewitness account.

The Palluel France tornado of 6/24/1967 is the only post-1950 F5 listed in the ESWD database. I question its F5 rating as I have been unable to find photographic or textual primary source evidence of F5 damage. Grazulis also questions its rating and believes the F5 rating might have been based on a car being moved >100 m.

Photos of this tornado available now seems not even stronger than Mira tornado 2015 or Czech tornado last year. EU's standard was definitely loose compared to other countries. If cars tossed 100m can be rated F5 alone then Orange TX last year can be F5.

Sometimes I do wonder if the Moravia tornado was capable of causing EF5 damage at some point. As far as I know there were no "clean sweeps" indicative of classic EF5 damage, but some of the contextual damage was pretty incredible.

I believe these were steel reinforced concrete farm buildings. Whatever the case, they were completely leveled.

This was the strongest residence structure damage I could find in its path. Maybe structure in Czech was Incrediblely strong that impossible to level?

If I have seen the most violent container damage, the container damage caused by the Funing tornado is definitely worth mentioning. The container was thrown 400-500 meters away and almost twisted into two sections. According to some uncertain news, the huge container was disassembled from a freight car and thrown here, Now there is more and more evidence that makes me believe that the tornado reached the intensity of EF5 at the later stage of the pathmmexport1641794997414.jpg

There were some homes in Pánov that were reportedly completely leveled and I have a photo that shows bare slabs after a few days of cleanup:

This is probably one of the most intense cases of damage from the Hodonin tornado. Near this area, a 12.05-ton bus was carried 30 meters, and trees were completely debarked, and a masonry building with ~11-12 in thick walls was severely damaged. It's possible the bus worsened the structural damage.

I think it's safe to say that the Moravia tornado caused the most intense debarking reliably documented outside of North America. The Tsukuba, Japan tornado in 2012 caused some debarking as well:

Photos of a small home that was swept off its foundation by the same tornado:
