Yeah I can tell by the building in them....I'm sure that video is floating around on some Japanese forum, I'll have to dig.

I wonder if the "video" is really just screenshots from a security camera.

It was a VHS tape taken by a man named as Kazumi Sasaki

Not a tornado watch, but a Level 2 from ESTOFEX (European Storm Forecast Experiment) which states that "A level 2 was issued for S UK mainly for severe wind gusts with a few tornado events possible. A strong event cannot be ruled out." There was a confirmed tornado near New Quay, Cornwall that destroyed a caravan park, resulting in 1 injury. The ESWD has rated it IF2 and I've seen mentions on the TORRO Forum about a rating of T4. This was quite a significant event for January for the UK and it is fortunate it didn't trick 2km northwards otherwise it would've gone straight through the centre of New Quay.

OTD 30 years ago, a waterspout turned F3 tornado came ashore in the town of Youghal, Ireland, in County Cork. At 7:20 am GMT, the tornado began over the sea and moved onshore, where it struck a campsite. Here, mobile homes were picked up and thrown up to 20 m away, some of which were destroyed. Roofs and chimneys were damaged as well. The tornado traveled for 3 km and was 50 meters wide. No casualties were reported. It is the strongest tornado ever recorded in Ireland and remains the only F3+ tornado ever to impact the country.
