Severe WX Severe Wx Threat - 1/19/19

Tornado warning for Greene. Couplet is just northeast of Gainesville, moving toward Union.

That storm could also be a problem for Tuscaloosa if it holds together. It’s tightened up the last couple of scans.

The first storm is ramping back up, may need a TOR for northeast Tuscaloosa county now.

I-85 corridor (Montgomery, Auburn) may have some issues this afternoon going by the last ~4 runs of the HRRR. Seems to be suggesting a semi-discrete supercell tracking across the area with well in excess of 400 m2/s2 0-1 km SRH.

And of course a ton of people are in Auburn because there's a big basketball game at 3 CST

It is amazing how lackadaisical people were when the sirens were going off. I was at Target and people are just moseying around the store shopping.

That's disturbing. I would have thought 2011 would still be fresh in people's minds in your city.

Even with a historic outbreak not far back in time, the lack of events since then aside from 4/28/2014 will do that.

That storm really needs two seperate tornado warnings. The northern one with the TDS for obvious reasons, and the southern circulation might put one down any minute now. Though I guess technically both are in the warning polygon.

New couplet forming to the north of there and new warning for Autauga has been issued

EDIT: confirmed tornado now

Good call on the 2 separate warnings.
