Those cells in SW Oklahoma certainly don't look linear.
Yep! I want to say it was the Selma storm too. I remember us marveling at the way it kept going after the line swallowed itWasn't it that cell that produced the Old Kingston, AL EF3 in January 2023 that continued producing strong tornadoes for quite some time after it got munched by the line, into western Georgia? The Keota, IA cell of March 31 was similar; the initial "catch-up" of the line induced a cycle that produced the Amish-Frytown EF0, then it became fully embedded yet produced 2 EF2s across and northeast of the Iowa City metro.
Saved the infamous towns for last it seems. The classic route.
The one by Carnegie is titled..Those cells in SW Oklahoma certainly don't look linear.
A classic system following a classic path. Why not?The classic route.
There’s no we’ll see about it. It may be weakening, but it can also re-intensify. You weigh the risk and err to caution in this scenario. Hopefully, it did weaken in time. We’ll see. It was much weaker than it was 20 minutes ago.
And the one by Olustee has premature supercell look too.The one by Carnegie is titled..
That is not the point of a TORE. A PDS warning was perfectly acceptable. There’s no we’ll see about it. It may be weakening, but it can also re-intensify. You weigh the risk and err to caution.
Honestly, when you've already had several strong to violent tornadoes in a day, it's probably better to be too bullish than too conservative when issuing warnings. Especially when you already have EF3+ damage reported from the same tornado you're warning for, and the tornadoes seem to be following the worst possible paths. There’s no we’ll see about it. It may be weakening, but it can also re-intensify. You weigh the risk and err to caution.
The environment hasn’t even been brushed down here. I’m worried.OKC folks ought to be on their toes for the next few hours.

In hindsight, the PDS is the probably right call, but it goes against what basically every other TORE does, which is they don't cancel the TORE until the tornado is confirmed to be off ground. That is not the point of a TORE. A PDS warning was perfectly acceptable.
A tornado emergency means a strong tornado is going through (or expected to go through) a populated area. This meets the criteria. That is not the point of a TORE. A PDS warning was perfectly acceptable.
