It’s cycling again. Whenever you see a strong couplet essentially that’s when it is down. Looking at the mesoscale analysis page it looks like the juice to keep this thing going is there

yeah even if it doesn't drop another tornado it's gonna do some serious damage between the hail and the straight-line winds.

Tornado threat looks like it'll be more to the north for the rest of the night. Rotation coming together west of Hugoton Kansas

I think as it moved south because the rotation strengthened it then moved out of the ‘just right’ position for surface level CAPE, which weakened it and therefore it fizzled out

I chuckled at their earlier comment about the hail... "...I hope I don't have to file another claim again, I did that a couple years ago when the hailstorm hit us..."

To be honest, 2025 is going to be hard to beat in terms of tornado videos and pictures for a long long time.

I'm not sure I've ever noticed an "Extremely Dangerous Situation" warning on a thunderstorm before, but that's what's going on east of Lubbock apparently. Yikes

To be honest, 2025 is going to be hard to beat in terms of tornado videos and pictures for a long long time.

I feel like 2025 is going to be a year in the record books. This season has already been deadlier than all of 2024 in the United States, and many of the tornadoes this year have been far more impactful (St. Louis, London, Tylertown, Bloomington, etc.) than last year. Not to say tornadoes like Sulphur weren't impacful, but this year really doesn't compare. Also good to note that we've already surpassed 2024 in terms of violent tornadoes and are only ten behind in EF3 tornadoes.
