Took until 9:00 PM ET, but we finally have our first confirmed tornado of the event....TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 830 PM CDT FOR
NORTHWESTERN CLINTON AND NORTHEASTERN SAINT CLAIR COUNTIES...
At 800 PM CDT, a tornado producing storm was located over Trenton, or
near New Baden, moving east at 40 mph.
HAZARD...Damaging tornado and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Radar confirmed tornado.
IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage
to roofs, windows and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is
likely.
This tornado will be near...
Aviston, Trenton, Albers and New Baden around 805 PM CDT.
Breese, Germantown and St. Rose around 810 PM CDT.
Beckemeyer around 820 PM CDT.
Other locations impacted by the tornado include Summerfield, Bartelso
and Stolletown.
This includes Interstate 64 in Illinois near exit 27.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a well-built building
away from windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a
vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself
from flying debris.
Heavy rainfall is hiding this tornado. Do not wait to see or hear the
tornado. Take cover now!
TOG near Trenton, Illinois.
Correct, but they’re not backed towards the storms, which definitely would’ve helped increase streamwiseness.The winds are southerly near/ahead of those storms on observations.
