Yeah, people tend to forget that even if the houses were all solidly built, the South (maybe to a lesser degree in GA) is just distributed differently in rural population than other parts of the tornado belts. The South has a giant number of tiny villages or even just country roads with plenty of homes scattered along them. It's very, very difficult for a tornado to truly hit "nothing" in the South. The deadliest outbreak of 2024 numbers wise was Labor Day weekend in May, 17 fatalities. This outbreak is 20 plus…bad start to spring. Have a Feeling we’ll have more total fatalities then 2024, but not as many total tornadoes of course. Last year didn’t have many events in the south where a lot of fatalities happen unfortunately. Sad stuff but the south got a break last year.
Stay safe!!!A tree just got vaporized outside by lightning. Probably about 300 feet away, ears are ringing.
Thank you dude for replying. Just by contrast, even in a state like Iowa, especially after farms consolidated, there's a lot of farm country with openish expanses.

Some insane damage from one of yesterday's tornadoes:
The storms are definitely trying to strengthen and rotate based on the radar imagery. If one can tap in and get going…From StormNET and the Mesoanalysis, I'd really be watching south-central AL, the Covington county area specifically...I think it's a very ripe area and environment that's untapped.
Had that happen when I was very young. I will never forget the sound. It was unbelievably loud.A tree just got vaporized outside by lightning. Probably about 300 feet away, ears are ringing.
You be safe!Power just got knocked out for a moment. Lightning hit I'm pretty sure.
