Severe WX Severe Weather Threat 3/14-3/16

Latest MCD:

SUMMARY...The severe threat may continue downstream of Tornado Watch
47 into eastern TN. An additional WW issuance may be needed
downstream pending favorable convective trends.

DISCUSSION...A QLCS continues to progress across Middle TN, and is
approaching the eastern bounds of Tornado Watch 47. Downstream,
surface observations show surface temperatures exceeding 70 F amid
upper 40s to low 50s dewpoints. Given 20+ F surface
temperature/dewpoint spreads, a deeper, potentially drier boundary
layer may be in place, which may augment damaging gust potential.
Given large, clockwise curved hodographs (per regional VADs), QLCS
tornado potential may also exist. As such, a downstream WW issuance
may be needed if QLCS organization and intensity persists or
especially increases.

I'm surprised at how little CAPE has made its way into central Alabama. I've been around 80 degrees since 10am, had a decent amount of sun out earlier, pretty strong winds out of the south, and no rain to stabilize the atmosphere... but nevertheless, the dewpoint has struggled to come up... am currently sitting at 79/61... and it seems like we still have less than 1000 J/Kg of CAPE.

Very odd event.

Out of curiosity, what website/program are you using to get those kinds of screenshots?

Then just snipped with the snipping tool (or snip-it, whatever they call it these days.)
Left menu has SRV, CC, and VIL - All I really need.

It's because the winds need to turn more southerly to advect in the higher theta-e air from the central Gulf and not from GA and FL.

I'm really hoping parts of Alabama don't deal with as long-duration of a threat as Mississippi has today. Unreal how long some areas have been under the gun by one tornado after another.
