Who remembers when the tornado hit the Georgia Dome in Atlanta and peeled the roof back during the 2008 SEC basketball tournament? Literally happened during the Mississippi State vs Alabama game. Exactly 17 years ago TODAY.Although the SEC Men”s Basketball tournament in Nashville is still on for tomorrow, the outdoor events associated with the tournament have been moved to Sunday.

The storms in southwest Missouri are remaining somewhat discrete, and some of them are showing signs of rotation already. The main event (of today) is beginning in earnest.
All it needs now is for the moisture content to increase markedly, and we'll fully be off to the races.

I want to get some sleep tonight, but I make just try and take power naps between waves, incredible looking storms. 
Little disturbances down in Louisiana, however, are starting to bubble up and have plenty of open air to take advantage of.

Although tornadoes and high winds will be the main story of the event, there is also a flooding threat as well. Flood Watches have been issued for counties in the Tennessee River basin area.

Incredible amounts of dust. Smoke too, but the amount of dust swirling into this system is off the charts. I'm not sure I've seen one like this before.

Find a YouTube stream. I don't know anything about Weather Nation but TWC has been trash TV for a decade.

The weather channel is absolutely terrible. It's really the commercial channel with occasional brief interruptions for weather.
They have commercials every 5 minutes. It gets old

Ryan Hall is an excellent youtube channel dedicated to bringing extensive severe weather coverage. He’s covered numerous events and is highly trustworthy.
