I think it's hard to overstate how much of a bullet Plainview just dodged. That's a strong tornado and I wouldn't be surprised to still see EF2 to EF3 damage from it.

Family in Waterloo lucked out, they managed to thread the needle between 2 tornadic supercells. I am getting quite worried for some people I know in Marshfield, WI, given the rotation heading that way.
