That was expected. I added another web server to the load balancer. Takes a few seconds to sync. Calm down guys.Nice to see I'm still getting "502: Bad Gateway" errors even during an active severe weather event.
I’m not into speculative assertions, and I’m very much into basing my read on what is actually confirmed. There are no confirmed reports of severe sigtor type damage in the towns of Independence or Manchester, and there is zero rooted severe convection present in Indiana or Michigan, where sigtor probs are lower to boot. My point still stands.Independence and Manchester definitely had some damage. Also the evening is not over, in fact it may be getting started in Indiana/Michigan.
I do think if anything the tornadoes today were stronger, with Union Center being the strongest of the bunch. I do wonder of the southern end of the complex could produce sigtors, but while not out of the realm of possibility, I do kinda doubt it.I’m not into speculative assertions, and I’m very much into basing my read on what is actually confirmed. This week still has some gas in the tank, though...*Glances accusingly at Friday*I think we’ve swung too far in the other direction on giving skeptical commentary during events. Some skepticism is always welcome, or if a “hyped” set up is struggling or storm mode looks like crap, it’s totally okay to voice that. As long as you back it up. Yes, this day was hyped and there were some crazy cam runs, but there were glaring issues leading with this set up that were obvious in the lead up as well.
This event, while still some time left, didn’t turn out as nearly as significant as forecasted. And that’s a good thing.
I wasn't defending the performance of the event. I think in retrospect they did nail the forecast for the day (albeit maybe not for the plains). I think today however was worse than yesterday as yesterday had many tornadoes but were overall lower end than today.I think we’ve swung too far in the other direction on giving skeptical commentary during events. Agree 100%. And I definitely will stand on the fact that it was far from a bust as well. Two significant tornadoes have touched down and have damage reports coming in.I think we’ve swung too far in the other direction on giving skeptical commentary during events. I don’t really see where the whole “bust” thing is coming from at least for the northern portion, though - we had multiple tornadoes, one possibly significant, in an area where significant tornadoes were explicitly modeled. I think the issue is that people have been treating it like a MDT, and are surprised when it doesn’t preform as expected. That’s because the SPC didn’t outline a moderate.I think we’ve swung too far in the other direction on giving skeptical commentary during events. Oh this wasn’t aimed at you at all. There were some snippy comments earlier as the event was going about this subject. I just posted it now since we are in a relative lull.I wasn't defending the performance of the event. I think in retrospect they did nail the forecast for the day. Homes leveled in Union Center per chaser.
Sorry. Quick, but not quick enough to where no one would notice, lol. Anyways...That was expected. I added another web server to the load balancer. Takes a few seconds to sync. Calm down guys.
That’s my sisters town. Texting herAlso, the storm in Freeport, IL is producing absolutely prolific lightning producer.
Oh my god I am an idiot. That was completely an accident.Confirmed by emergency management now.
I’m assuming the laughing reaction was an accidental press?
I’m not at all calling it a b*st.. I just get annoyed when I give an objective overview of what we know so far only to hear “Hey but what about these two towns where no significant damage had been reported and what about these two states where literally nothing is happening and there’s no indication it will”. All im saying is let’s keep it objective and base things on currently verifiable infoI don’t really see where the whole “Forecasted Convective Amplification Deficiency” thing is coming from at least for the northern portion, though - we had multiple tornadoes, one possibly significant, in an area where significant tornadoes were explicitly modeled.
