Severe Weather 2024

Why Brad? WHY? Brad Travis posted on Facebook how we're going into a La Nina pattern and how that may make winter weather and severe weather more active. And he used 2011 as an example. *sigh* So now a bunch of the normies in the comments are thinking we're going to have another generational outbreak next spring and I'm sure that will making the social media rounds about as fast as the nitwits who blame tornadoes on NEXRAD.

Insert facepalm. While yes 2011 was La Nina (which is as far as I will go with bringing that year up), we are still in Neutral ENSO with expectation of going into a La Nina. When that happens though is unknown. Still though could make for a very interesting Fall severe weather season. I really haven't come across anything that dictates above normal or below normal tornado seasons during Neutral ENSO.

Don't forget about those people who believe roundabouts cause tornadoes due to how fast a car goes through them. I wish I was making that up. As a degreed meteorologist, it absolutely saddens me to see all this crap going around.

Excuse me, what? Roundabouts?? I hate the blasted things but don't blame them for twisters. I don't want to be on this planet anymore. Wow.

I’m inclined to believe there will be a tornado in 2025.

Oh, I can see you're already aware of Florida Man's underrated rival, Pennsylvania Man:

I believe we are pretty comfortably into La Nina now, only Nino 4 region is higher than -0.5 and it's at -0.4.

The roundabouts are clearly enhancing the La Nina this year

Yep. Definitely those roundabouts. Need to reduce our roundabout footprint too

SPC Day 4-8 Discussion: "Richer low-level moisture is not
forecast to return to the entire Gulf Basin until Tuesday/D8. This
may result in limited inland moisture and instability Monday/D7 and
Tuesday D8, particularly if the trough follows some of the more
progressive guidance. However, if return flow continues for a longer
period before the primary trough ejects, a greater severe weather
threat is possible, but it would likely be beyond Tuesday/D8."
