Since I made this thread to include the excessive heat, the bad news is that the Alabama beaches are under an Excessive Heat Warning for Tuesday. The good news is the Rip Current Risk is Low so it will be great to cool off in the Gulf.

I think the morning round of storms did a number on temperatures this afternoon in north Alabama. While still hot, the current temperature in Huntsville is only 88 with a Heat Index of 98.

Another interesting note, these destructive tornadoes earlier today occurred in a Severe Thunderstorm Watch and not a Tornado Watch.
It's absolutely bonkers that we have this much heat and moisture in Iowa, but no storm potential. My gut is telling me it has something to do with all the corn sweat creating a heat dome over the surface that is acting like an impenetrable lid over those boiling stew of an atmosphere
