School Closings: Wednesday, 4/5/17

It's probably safe to say that all Alabama schools will be out tomorrow considering he issued a state of emergency. Everyone is freaking out now!

Except us poor college students at UAB, where we are never closed. SPC could create a new risk category called "Finger of God", put UAB in it, and we would still have class.

Calhoun Community College in Decatur-Huntsville will be closed on Wednesday.

Classes are cancelled at Auburn. Softball game against Samford postponed.

As soon as Bentley declared, everyone started announcing closings. Don't have to do a make up day as a result.....

The problem for me and most UAB students is that we are commuters. We have to drive in the elements UAB doesn't care.

If I get killed driving to school in severe weather, make sure the headline "UAB Student Killed by Severe Weather While Trying to Get to Class" is given to the media.

Auburn University and the University of Alabama have called off classes tomorrow.

UAB normal campus operations suspended tomorrow. Hospital and clinic remain open.

UA has suspended all operations today.

This may not be on topic, but is related to the issue of school closings. Delta has issued waivers when severe weather is expected in New York. However, with the moderate risk, and Atlanta meteorologists expecting very bad weather, I wonder why a weather waiver wasn't issued for Atlanta proactively. Instead, you have people sleeping at ATL this morning.
