As many of you know, May 6 and 7, 2003 were the days that Georgia and Alabama were affected the most by that outbreak event. I was wondering if any TV news coverage has been posted online from the TV stations in Alabama and Georgia of that event. Also, feel free to share your memories of that event.

We were huddled in a room, and the tornadic storm came over. It was extremely dark outside in the afternoon. I remember also that the day before, Atlanta had gotten the severe weather in their neck of the woods.

Anyone else remember that outbreak's impact on the Deep south besides the Jackson, TN tornado?

I actually remember the May 7th coverage very well; I was 12 then. That was the day of a homeschool group meetup at a church and we were huddled around an old portable TV in the basement with horrible reception watching coverage as the one nasty cell central AL cell marched out of MS across Lamar and Fayette into Walker dropping intermittent tornadoes. Had random people coming to shelter in the basement even though the worst of the storm was well south of us. I specifically remember playing Mancala with people to pass time and calm nerves as I had just learned to play. That was three years before I had the ability to record TV tornado coverage though, unfortunately.
