Looks like our DeLorean hit 88 miles per hour a little too hard! A recent style update went sideways, sending us back to a retro look for a bit. We've parked that faulty future theme for now while we tinker under the hood.

A magnitude 7.6 earthquake just struck about 130 miles ssw of George Town, Cayman Islands at a depth of 6 miles. Tsunami warnings are up all around the Caribbean sea.
Saw that right after getting online just now. Luckily it was not a thrust motion, but side-to-side. The only tsunami report from NOAA now has 0.1 m noted at Isla de Mujeres, though they say the sea is going to continue being stirred up for a while.
Geonerd stuff. (So glad I found this account after last year's Noto Peninsula earthquakes.)
X translation: "Japan time this morning's M7.6 earthquake in the Caribbean Sea, a strike-slip earthquake at the boundary between the Caribbean Plate and the North American Plate. The figure shows the Global CMT solutions for past earthquakes categorized by fault type. The CMT solution for the M7.6 earthquake is also from Global CMT. The blue line indicates the boundary according to DeMets et al.'s MORVEL. The relative velocity of MORVEL near the epicenter is 1.93 cm, 74 degrees. The same should apply at the nearby whatever ridge."
