I know the Aleutian Islands are pretty active but as of late it seems like they have been a little more severe in magnitude.

That they have. The sun hasn't been the cause of them either. This has to be pressure related and I would watch Volcanos in the area. Glad to see that the 6.4 didn't cause a Tsunami.
