SYLACAUGA, Ala. (WIAT) — Four former Sylacauga High School students have been arrested today in the assault of 17-year-old Brian Ogle, officials say.
Ogle was reportedly beaten by a group of people the night of Sept. 30th in the parking lot of Old Ace Hardware. His mother told us he was attacked because he made pro-police statements on social media, and says she thinks it is a hate crime. Ogle was found bleeding from his head on Friday around 10 p.m. He was transported to the Coosa Valley Medical Center and later transported to UAB by helicopter. He reportedly suffered skull fractures and internal bleeding.

Now the update that is breaking my family's hearts as we try to find justice for Brian!!
2 men that almost beat a Brian to death was given youthful offender status.
What can you do or say that might help? This could have been your child beaten, wouldn't you want the strictest punishment to go to those that almost killed them and have injured them body and mind for the rest of their life??
What they get from being YO:
Any record of the charge, arrest, and court proceedings are made off limits and are not accessible to anyone not involved in the case. This can be important as a young person embarks on their life and applies for jobs or educational opportunities.
Once a person has been granted YO status, even if they are found guilty of the charged offense, it will not show up on their record as a conviction. Instead, the court will treat it as an adjudication, and none of the usual effects of a conviction will apply. A person adjudicated as a Youthful Offender will not be deprived of their civil rights such as the right to vote or the right to carry

William E. Hollingsworth III, gave Bobby Brown and LaNoah Ealey, Youthful Offender Status, and Daveon Nix was denied.
The other offender that was harassing the victim and his family (my cousin Brian and his Mama Brandi) was drug tested at his court attendance for the harassment charges and he was put in jail for bail violation because he tested positive for drugs.
So you can beat a 17 year old kid almost to death because what he said offended you (all 17 year olds would be dead if that were the sick case) get a tiny bail under 20,000 then two get YO status (all 4 were over 18 but under 21).....the one that turned states witness didn't get YO.
What's going on y'all??
Brian graduated last week, he's still living with injuries to his body and spirit.
There needs to be justice!
Please pray for this family every court day feels like a beating and remember this could be or have been your child!!
