Debby's acting funny. Each time an eye seems to close off, it opens back up again. It looks like there may be two centers rotating around each other, with no particular one "winning." Until that gets resolved, intensity ceiling will remain fairly low.

Some dry air intrusion. Mixing it out, but running out of time.

Rainfall totals starting to pile up - pushing 10 inches in the highest places already.

As someone who lived though a 20"+ rain even that had tremendous local impact, I have to say the thing that worries me most is how many lives will be impacted who have no idea what is coming -- and who will find out in an election year that no coverage is coming. People are not used to looking at flood stages and understanding what a once in a lifetime river flood looks like --- and how that delay works. The storm will be on the way out, as will the press, when the real damage hits.

Praying no one gets anything remotely like what central Virginia got from Camille years ago

This event hardly started and already there’s fatalities. Just like what I said about every storm this season looking pretty, unfortunately the same can be said about deaths. Hoping this isn’t a theme for the rest of the season.

Pretty stinky flooding situation for northern FL and southern GA.

Slowed down to 7 mph as of 2 PM. At least most of the models are showing it eventually kicking out to sea after a few days. The flooding is already gonna be bad enough, but having it just stick around for a week afterwards would just be horrible.
