Heat Wave with little end in sight some say

St. Louis says likely hottest first week of September ever recorded! No end to this in sight. Back door cool front next weekend. That means trough digs into Great Lakes. Good for them. No rain here in my neck of Iowa. Subsistence on backside of a trough just a slight dip in temperature. Seriously considering moving. I once lived in Northern Michigan. Too old to move that far. But maybe northeast Iowa. I am in southern Iowa. Couple hundred miles has to help some. We will soon be a month with no rain here. I know other areas much worse. But this heat has sat on the west basically all summer. Only visiting the Midwest. Now seems it’s here to stay.

I find it interesting there is no Heat Advisory in northwest Arkansas but the area is surrounded by a Heat Advisory.

Another thing to be concerned with this weekend is heat stroke issues with College Football having the first games on Saturday. I wonder how many fans will be in the stands at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa on Saturday with an 11 AM kick, a cupcake opponent, and a heat index approaching 110 by the second half.

It's the Ozarks, so it's almost always a bit cooler here than down in the River Valley (Fort Smith). By the way, the I-49 drive from Fort Smith up to Fayetteville/NWA is one of the most beautiful drives ever, especially in the fall

And now all of Arkansas is under a Heat Advisory with an Extreme Heat Warning around Fort Smith. Meanwhile in Alabama, perhaps today might not have been a good day for Kalen Debour to wear a black hoodie on the sidelines.
