Record high temps on tap today. From the NWS Birmingham. We look to break or tie these in Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, and Anniston today.

Birmingham: 76° (2011)*
Montgomery: 83° (1891)
Tuscaloosa: 77° (2011)*
Anniston: 76° (2011)*

Easily broke the record high temp set in 2011 here in Tuscaloosa.

Made it to 76 in Atl Monday.... Record is 78 set way back when spot was a puppy!

Long range GFS shows lows falling back into mid-upper 30's at the end of the first week of March... might be frosty, not sure if there will be a freeze. We will need to watch it

A look at the radar shows diurnally driven convection. You wouldn't think it's February...

Large temperature swings are hallmarks of a La Nina. Wouldn't surprise me to see another cool blast to start March.

Euro/EPS are showing quite a system on the east coast around day 9-10. Would bring a pretty good shot of cold air with it here and probably a solid freeze.
