Colorado winds and fires.

A very nasty situation is unfolding in Boulder County, Colorado where extremely strong winds have ignited several fast moving wildfires. NWS in Boulder at one point measured gusts up to 110 mph. Superior and Louisville, Colorado are currently being evacuated.
 
It's really surprising to me that so many of these fire-prone areas still have above-ground power lines.

My town suffered from wildfires in 1980 and 2003. All of the power lines are above ground but they only got around to fireproofing all of the poles and wires this year.
