The President met today with President al-Sisi of Egypt. The White House characterized the meeting as “an honest discussion focused on areas of cooperation.”
The Senate Judiciary Committee voted along party lines, 11-9, to send Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch to the floor of the Senate for a vote. Democrats are expected to filibuster the nomination, potentially forcing Republicans to change the rules of the Senate to confirm Gorsuch.
The President signed three more bills repealing federal regulations as per the Congressional Review Act: H.J.Res. 69, nullifying a rule prohibiting hunters from taking hibernating bears; H.J.Res. 83, nullifying a rule affirming the need for employers to record injury and illness in the workplace; and S.J.Res. 34, nullifying a rule that prohibits internet service providers to sell customer information.
