Severe WX April 1-2 (overnight) Severe Weather Event

It actually does look like MEG will be doing the survey, since Cave City is within NWS Memphis jurisdiction. Their surveys are hit and miss. Although I really don’t suspect a case of a slabbed acceptably anchored home getting an ef3 rating.

They’re survey of the mayfield tornado was relatively well done.

Cave City was done by Little Rock, and Mayfield was surveyed by the Paducah office. MEG did the proceeding tri-state EF4 (reasonably well I’ll admit, except for rating some of the most violent debarking ever photographed EF3).

Lots of subdivisions there. Hopefully that’s just shingles and leaves we’re seeing
I've got Jefferson County suburban fire going on the scanner, multiple streams going and it's hard to keep up - did hear one call come through for a collapsed structure. Two impassable roads so far due to debris and lines.

Edit: Based on the locations they're calling out, seems the tornado began in the commercial areas of Jeffersontown.

QLCS is becoming more longitudinal oriented.

This is because the surface low responsible for its formation ejects northeastward while the long wave trough stays behind. As you can see below, a second surface low is developing from the height falls caused by this slow moving trough. These two lows are basically stretching the QLCS into this longitudinal orientation.

A stalled boundary will form in between these two surface lows and create a corridor for multiple rounds of storms for the next day and a half. This is the time interval in which the majority of flooding rains will fall.
