2026 Drought Discussion

Boy we are sure trying to make up for the drought in a couple days. Driest spring in years and the second it hits Memorial Day weekend… non-stop popup showers and thunderstorms. Washed out of both days of our first tournament of the summer this weekend. Can’t say I’m not enjoying the pattern change, but man can we spread it out a little? Definitely feels like summertime around here now.

With any Georgia Luck™ we'll be dealing with prolific flooding in July, because that's just how the dice rolls for us when it comes to precipitation.

Follow up on this: It's only the end of may, but yeah.

It will be interesting to see what the latest drought monitor is for Alabama tomorrow after all the rain we have had the past several days.

The Severe Drought level is gone in Alabama with all the rain. However, Moderate Drought remains across the state.

Pretty substantial reductions across the state. Still a ways to go, and the Coastal Plain is still deep in the red, but I'll definitely take it over nothing at all.

Most if not all the Deep South will be nearly out or out of drought by end of July.

we're doing better up here. most of the red area was in a slight risk yesterday and got a lot of rain.

The latest drought monitor shows drought completely gone over parts of Alabama with the rain we’ve had since Memorial Day Weekend.
