If the effort to remove Trump is successful, it will prove Madison and others truly founded a great country. Three branches of government under control of the same party and the president still can't pull off dictator-level actions. I'm sorry you've been convinced of a nonexistent doomsday outlook. It must be stressful to live with that fear. :(
I've been there before so I understand how rational you think it is. Hopefully you'll break out of it someday.

I do not live in fear. I live in reality. We are no longer governed. We are ruled and the rulers have demonstrated they will do anything to retain their power. The country as founded was great.

Major 3 media news outlets hilariously polarized.

CNN: Anchors say "the 'i' word" instead of "impeach" - states the situation is "serious". Has relevant guests from house oversight committee, senators/representatives.. asks "why did comey not come forward with this earlier?" And follows up with possible explanations "House/Senate had enough of Comey running to capital Hill" with political complaints, "On-going investigations" "Who would Comey go to?" "Comey was working on improving relationship with president and documenting this was the right move"

MSNBC: Anchors compare this to Watergate, repeatedly says this could lead to "impeachment", brings on guests and lawyers who try to piece together a picture of obstruction.

FOX: Anchors and guests suggest this is "overblown" and "hysteria", suggests Comey may have had "nefarious purposes" for recording the memo and sitting on it for months.

I have a few questions.

1. If Trump asked Comey to stop the Flynn investigation why did Comey not resign on the spot ? After all, he is the most virtuous man in D.C. is he not ?

2. Was Comey not compelled by law, and if not by law by honest governing to report to Congress that the President of the United States is asking him to obstruct justice ? After all, Comey is the most virtuous man in D.C. is he not ?

It's my understanding that asking him to stop the investigation is not obstruction. It's firing him to stop the investigation that is the issue.

No. They (NYT) said Comey wrote a memo which said during a meeting Trump asked for the investigation into Flynn come to a halt. That meeting took place in February. If that was the case Comey was bound by the law to report obstruction of justice by the President of The United States. If he did not inform Congress at his first opportunity then Comey himself is in legal jeopardy.

1. Why would Comey resign because the president is the one being unvirtuous? I imagine Comey did not want to leave his post as FBI director.

2. I believe the quoted post has some decent explanations: Comey had been heavily criticized for running to Congress the past 6 months especially with the Clinton FBI investigation. As acting FBI director he wanted to work with the president and not irreparably damage their relationship. As I've heard, Comey pushed back on the president's suggestion and the president didn't press hard on him dropping the investigation. Additionally, would word-of-mouth from Comey actually get anywhere if he came out about it immediately? Or would it be best to meticulously document the discussions, go about business and keep collecting information?? I think the latter.
As one guest said on Fox news, there was an ongoing investigation into Russian meddling and it would be irregular for the director go come forward to Congress before the investigation was complete with accusations that the president was attempting to obstruct Justice.
 
Also, remember last July when Comey gave his Hillary email press conference when he said how careless she was, how bad it was ? Of course you do. Then, he stated it was not her intent to harm national security thus no criminal charges. If Trump leaked classified intelligence can you prove it was his intent to do harm ? No you cannot and therefore CASE CLOSED!
 
I know, I know... this is all part of Trump's master plan. He is playing 999,999D chess while his critics are setup to be exposed and ridiculed.

The idea that this is the "deep state," Neocons, the DNC, the Establishment, the biased liberal MSM, etc is patently absurd. This is actually beyond 9/11 conspiracy theories at this point. You'd literally need the active collusion, planning, and collaboration of thousands of people in Washington, the media, and throughout the county.

If you've got all these powerful people and a united biased media why couldn't they have taken down Trump during the primaries? What benefit would there be to waiting until now? I'm sure the media and the DNC were just BEGGING for President Pence.

How about a little Occam's razor? All these leaks are occurring because good and decent PATRIOTIC Americans have seen that Trump is an incompetent disaster. They were willing to give him a chance, and only give up what they had if he crossed the line. Firing Comey and trying to obstruct the FBI investigation crossed the line. These Americans have responded. Trump is 100% responsible, as all of these wounds are self-inflicted.

Comparing things that are 0.5% similar to what Trump has done is just sad. Obama was/is a lot of things, but he wasn't an immoral and corrupt to the core moron.

The American people wanted to see what would happen if they elected a President without values or a moral foundation. Now they know.

I can't even keep up with the stories.

1. Flynn shot down plans that Turkey didn't like.
2. Special Counsel.
3. Trump campaign knew about Flynn issues before he was appointed NSA.
5. McCarthy, Ryan, and other GOP leaders are on tape saying Trump gets paid by Putin. Their spokesmen blatantly LIED about it until WaPo told them they have the tape.
6. Comey has more memos covering more Trump interactions.

Those are the stories JUST since 4PM. At least a dozen more I can't even keep up with.

Yes, people are now collaborating and leaking at will. That's what happens when you have no moral authority, try to obstruct an investigation, treat your staff like crap and constantly undermine them by tweeting, don't appoint qualified people to hundreds of key DC jobs because your son-in-law convinced you to kick the Governor of NJ to the side and implode all of your transition team's work, constantly use vile language to attack the media and your opponents, and a whole laundry list of items I haven't mentioned.

Trump is reaping what he sowed, and he absolutely deserves it. And it wouldn't be happening if he was a decent human being, treated people better, or wasn't such a narcissistic jerk with an infantile level of emotional intelligence.

If only someone had warned Trump voters. If only people had stood up and yelled at the top of their lungs that Trump would be a disaster? Why didn't someone warn Trump voters. Oh, wait...

Just think, GOP could have passed almost all of their major legislative priorities by now with zero scandals if people didn't decide that wanted to see what happens when you give an arsonist a box of matches and a tanker full of gas. That could be the reality instead of 2018-2038 span that brings a two decade era of Democrats ruling everything. Because that's what is going to happen.
