Is there another Republican that could challenge Trump and actually have a legit chance at winning?

There’s plenty. If they stick their neck out and do it they will be lambasted from all sides there will be dossiers aplenty and I can see the rest of Trumps term being a train wreck so here we go. By the way plenty already blamed Obama when he was still president it’s just irrelevant and inflammatory to bring up now.

Wait, so are you saying that white male Baby Boomers as a group DO possess some kind of special ability to discern or define racism?

You added the word special, did you do that to waste our time?
Why make that statement in the first place?
I’ve got one for you, water is wet...

He's just as guilty for the police murders as Trump is for the El Paso and Dayton murders. And you can take your high and mighty smugness and cram it!
So, since he’s just as guilty as Trump, and you blame Obama, logic dictates that you blame Trump. Good to see that you’ve come to your senses.

You’re saying that you never blamed Obama for violence against police?

Perhaps rhetorically but is the ultimate responsibility of the one that does the killing. The left loves events like these. They don't give a rats money maker about the lost lives. They care more about the issue.

You’re right, but it’s completely unrelated to our shooting problem. Look at Japan, or England:
Pop. 65 million
Pop. 330 million (5x)

Video game revenues: ≈$5 billion
Video game revenues: ≈$25 billion (5x)

Gun homicides (2017): 31
Gun homicides (2017): 14,542 (469x)
Comparing America to other countries is apples to oranges. We can't even compare cities within the United States without lots of asterisks.

I think both points were trying to make stands. We have decay of the moral fiber within American culture.

Then how come the left are the only ones trying to pass any laws, such as the background check law that Moscow Mitch refuses to bring to a vote?

Speaking out against police mistreatment of black people (which happened) and dehumanizing immigrants and emboldening white supremeqcists are not the same thing.

Did you only rhetorically blame Obama for actions taken by Antifa, the Black Panthers, and other racially motivated hate groups?

Who do you mean by "the left"? My assumption would be you're referring to the average left since there's no indication otherwise. Your average "left" are working citizens, contractors, doctors, nurses, engineers, technicians. People who go about their lives like you and me. I don't see how they could be demonized to the extent that they're rubbing their hands together and thinking of political gains and disregarding the human impact of such an event. They are thinking about their own families or their own kids or parents. The left isn't as callous as you think. Even the politicians on either side of the isle I'd imagine have at least a shred of decency to take into account the meaning of these tragedies and the impact on citizens and families. Your characterisation of the left, regardless of what "left" you're actually talking about is unfounded and plays into the ultra ideology agenda of growing the partisan divide.

I agree, but they are part of the solution and a logical thing to do.

Doing nothing is not the answer.
Creating laws that currently have little consensus of fixing the issue is not the answer. What should have been done ages was a commission to study gun violence (and other connections).

NICS (National Instant Criminal Background Check System) has had many failures...the actual system that runs the background checks. So, creating laws that use a sometimes broken system, is the solution and logical thing to do? In two mass shootings I can think of off the top of my head (Charleston and Sutherland Springs), NICS completely broke down allowing someone with a criminal record to purchase a gun. With it needing to access multiple databases that are not always updated/maintained properly, what is the point? But in 2018, bipartisan support in both the House and Senate, passed a bill to increase penalties for slow/improper reporting to the databases accessed during background checks. Trump signed the bill.

In the case of El Paso, Gilroy, and Dayton, nothing in any of the suspects' background (criminal conviction or mental adjudication) would've precluded them from acquiring a gun. They all passed NICS (despite many anecdotal claims by family and friends of having mental issues). The current UBC bill you're referencing wouldn't have prevented any of these as they did not purchase the firearm through the loophole. I want to say that all purchased through a dealer (I'm not 100% on that but it's what I've gathered reading multiple articles).

As I have said, consensus regarding the efficacy of UBCs is inconclusive.

Yes the background system is broken, but that doesn’t mean it can’t and shouldn’t be fixed.

Many of the mass shootings wouldn’t have been helped by this type of law, but some of your other types of shootings would be.
