Greetings all

So, as you may know, we love to play the lottery here at TalkWeather. With the current Powerball lottery at over $1.2 billion, we have brought back our popular lottery pool. This time we are looking for your help with possible blog subjects for TalkWeather. Naturally, we love weather and science ideas but feel free to be creative on your entry. Rules are at the bottom of this post.

To enter, just provide a possible blog post subject for the TalkWeather Blog.

By providing a possible blog subject, you agree to our simple rules below...
1. Only those that reply to this thread with a blog subject are eligible.
2. One entry per valid TalkWeather account. Any attempt to use multiple accounts will disqualify all your entries.
3. Because the staff and volunteers have no control over the lottery, all valid TalkWeather members are eligible to participate.
4. Post as many times as you want, but you only get one entry.
5. Any winnings under $1000 will be given to TalkWeather's operation fund, and furthermore, the fee for the lottery ticket has been personally paid for by @WesL
6. Any win over $1000 will be distributed evenly to all valid entries, minus the cost for actual administration fees to validate entries, collect information, disperse winnings, and any other cost deemed necessary by Social Data Group, LLC management.
7. The ticket has been purchased in the State of Arkansas; therefore, winners are subject to Arkansas' laws, regulations, etc.
8. TalkWeather's server time will serve as the official time. All valid entries must be posted by 11/2/22 at 8:00 pm central time to be considered valid.
9. You agree to hold harmless all members, volunteers, owners, and staff of TalkWeather / Social Data Group, LLC.
10. Only open to United States citizens residing in the United States.
12. No purchase is necessary.
11. The administrator of this contest is Social Data Group, LLC, and assumes all rights to determine the administration of this contest, including how any winnings are to be dispersed.

Updated entry deadline to reflect current year :)
11/7/2022 - Extended deadline to 8pm 11/7/2022

Since I’m watching it occur out my window at work currently, a blog on dynamic cooling would be interesting.

I’d like to see a blog post on the possibility of traveling back in time, as that would be necessary to participate in this promotion given that the rules state “All valid entries must be posted by 9/25/21 at 8:00 pm central time to be considered valid.”

LOL just when you think you got everything right for once.... however, time travel is a valid blog subject... consider it accepted. Also thanks for pointing that out.

Continuing our fun tonight as well. All previous entries count and if you didn’t get in before feel free to add a blog post idea. All entries before 8pm central tonight will be eligible. Good luck.

Those numbers look good. :)

I suggest a blog post about “winter weather types”.

FYI, @WesL the banner at the top of the forum is not going to this page correctly.

FINALLY..... Sadly we didn't win but let's see if anyone else did.

Officials have finally announced the winning numbers for the record $2.04 billion Powerball lottery jackpot after Monday night's drawing was delayed when one of the 48 participating lotteries needed more time to complete the necessary protocols.

The winning numbers are 10-33-41-47-56 and the Powerball was 10.
This story will be updated.

There was only one winning ticket sold, and it was sold in California. I'd recommend taking that money and moving to a better state. ;)

I love to visit California but not sure I would live there. However, they don't tax lottery winnings but at $2.04 billion does it really matter.

California is one of 15 states that do not tax lottery winnings. The $2.04 billion grand prize shattered the previous record for biggest U.S. lottery jackpot, of $1.586 billion.
