Heres a video from the main office of FNB Bank in Mayfield 10 Dec 21. Im amazed the recordings survived.
I'm sure a fair amount of high-end tornadoes have done stuff like this; it explains many past accounts of debris falling out of the sky despite a tornado being nowhere to be seen. Some of the 4/27 ones probably did it, but that was before operational dual-pol.

I personally would rather lose my job then be told what to rate a tornado. That is me though.
A steady income is the only motive you need to keep your mouth shut and not question your supervisors' actions/incompetence.I personally would rather lose my job then be told what to rate a tornado. That is me though.
They should have rated the extreme tree damage near Buckeye, AR EF4 as well, but at least they went with EF4 in general. After this outbreak, I think I have to put LMK at the top of my list for WFOs I don’t trust rating wise. At least MEG went with EF4. Idk if the damage above would be rated higher than EF3 by LMK.The EF4 DIs for the first long-tracked tornado in AR/TN/MO was added.

The only other two videos of the Mayfield tornado that I've been able to find besides the bank security video posted above. and the other video taken from near Bremen.

I was wondering the same, but I think it is likely a combination of near-constant thunder and wind affecting the camera microphone.Is...is that a roar in the first video?
Yeah, you may be on to something. It does closely reminisce of this video of the Bennington, KS tornado and the roar that it had, albeit a closer shot.I was wondering the same, but I think it is likely a combination of near-constant thunder and wind affecting the camera microphone.
With a week of cleanup... what would they even find?NWS sent a survey team back to the Bremen area today per their Twitter, and are still assessing damage points. Saying upgrade is unlikely, but can’t completely rule it out yet. I’m beyond pessimistic at this point but hey…
They are still uploading all the EF4 DI. The facility was rated 170mph but It was removed from DAT several days ago.Ummm does anybody know what rating has been assigned to UK Research facility? There's no damage point for it on the DAT. It's like they skipped it. Are you kidding me? Also, how is there not a single EF4 damage point in Dawson Springs?
Not gonna lie I'm amazed it took this long for Twister to get mentioned in any of these threads. This might be a little off-topic, but I couldn't resist this:
Where they should be conducting further surveys is in Cayce, Cambridge Shores and Carbondale but of course that won't happen.NWS sent a survey team back to the Bremen area today per their Twitter, and are still assessing damage points. I’m kinda mad that it seems like their claim that they were going to check out the deep ground scouring near Cayce seems to have been an empty promise.Where they should be conducting further surveys is in Cayce, Cambridge Shores and Carbondale but of course that won't happen.
