Some very sad news out of Texas. Triple fatality car wreck involving 2 storm chasers. Doesn't appear to be directly caused by a storm....

Mike Bettes just said it was Kelley Williamson and his partner from TWC. Wow. No words.

3rd chaser was a much younger guy. Apparently it involved 3 storm chasers with one vehicle (the one Williamson and Yarnell were in) running a stop sign.

This is the kind of thing you always worry about when you have so many people converging on one or two storms as is the norm nowadays. Really terrible news.

Authorities have confirmed that Kelley Williamson was one of the chasers killed in today's accident. Supposedly Kelley was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected in the crash. I'm shocked at this news...he always seemed to be one of the more cautious and responsible storm chasers. I watched his feed on Severe Studios and TVN many times...terribly sad, he seemed to be a very good-hearted and cheerful man. My deepest condolences to the families of the souls lost today.

EDIT: I just heard that the others were Randy Yarnall and Corbin Lee Jaeger...absolutely tragic news

Man this is awful. I've been watching Kelley Williamson since before he started working with The Weather Channel.
He was the first chaser whose stream I watched, back on November 16, 2015 when I first discovered TVN. I watched his feed many, many, times since then and hoped to meet him in a few years when I went chasing after finishing my meteorology program. Terrible indeed. RIP Kelley, Randy, and Corbin. Thank you for bringing so many of us along for the digital ride. And be sure to say hi to Matt, Tim, Carl, and Paul for us.

Sad. What's worse, Kelley Williamson was livestreaming and right before he reached the intersection the video froze. So there were people watching him live right up to his death. The video does not show what happened though, Lori posted the video just above.
