2026 Political Thread

This is a joyous day. Republican senators and legislators are finally reaping what they’ve sowed over the last 2 years and I have zero sympathy for a single one of them when the falling-out of the entire party comes. Also shows that people are fed up with Trump en masse which is great for 2028.

Alabama electing a trans legislator is one of the greatest things I’ve ever seen.

I'm so happy Talarico won, there's too much to say about all the other races but that dude was who I really wanted to win the most. Incredible

Honestly. Ken Paxton seems like a douche from some of the stuff that has happened leading up to the election.

Mississippi seems to be the closest one, with predictions favoring Colom. House-wise it's a complete democratic sweep (232D, 138R as of posting), which is better than I think 99% of polls were predicting. Still have more of those to go.

I mean honestly all politicians have a LOT of flaws, but some people are better than others with their policies

GOP is in the wilderness as they absolutely deserve.

I would love to see sanity from both parties, however, we'll see what Democrats do over the next two years. I'd love to believe they've also learned some lessons from the past few elections themselves.

What happened last night is exactly what I wished for. The GOP is so far off the rails in its current form, they needed to be crushed, for two reasons.

1 - to run these punks off
2 - the Democrats ran terrible candidates, let them be who they are.

If the GOP is smart, they'll put adults back in charge and can win the White House in 2028. Maybe the Senate. It'll take 2-3 elections to get the house.

I hope El-Sayed and Tallarico get prominent assignments. It'll almost guarantee a Republican comeback.

Unless the GOP hitches their wagon to Vance, then they get what they deserve.

The Trump cabinet needs to be impeached and hopefully charged for a myriad of things. That's what they need to do.

If they're guilty of crimes worth of impeachment, etc., then so be it.

The Democrats invented using the Justice Department, among other things, as a weapon. I fully expect them to do it again.

In all seriousness, the first thing that needs to be done is refunding the NWS.
(and maybe patching a few radar holes along with it)
Their priorities should definitely be to resolve the Iran war and bring some of those prices down, then they can go after some of the other issues.
