I don’t think it’s likely, but Polo is definitely in a league of its own right now
(almost said Nolo d**n it NHC why do you have to have two storm names that sound almost identical the same time?)

I’d say less “unlikely” and more along the lines of “completely impossible” because Patricia is in a league of its own.
Perfect conditions for speed and conditions for size and energy are really kind of different things entirely. In terms of absolute energy, Polo wins. You're witnessing the most powerful thing ever recorded by that metric. Size + intensity + time. Patricia's speed record is going to be hard to beat, but it's kind of like comparing Usain Bolt to Greg Kovacs.

That’s fair in its own right. It’s extremely impressive to check all these boxes at once, similar to Tip in that regard, but I’ve always had a bit of a personal bias towards the absolute highest intensity maxima a TC can feasibly reach, even if it is for a brief moment. I was referring to more of the fact that it’s nearly impossible that Polo can exceed Patricia specifically in terms of its acute strength barring a truly extraordinary RI episode.

It already nearly broke Patricia’s ERI record
Patricia RI’d from 75 kts to 185 kts (85 mph to 205 mph) in 24 hours, a 120 mph jump in winds
Polo RI’d from 45 kts to 95 kts in 24 hours (50 mph to 160 mph), a 110 mph jump in winds.

Tropical Depression Fifteen-E formed in the EPAC on September 14th, and degraded to a remnant low among wind shear and dry air on September 16th. However its remnant circulation remained traceable as it moved generally westwards and crossed 140W into the CPAC basin, where on September 22nd it regenerated into a tropical depression and later on September 23rd became Tropical Storm Nolo. Nolo is currently threatening the Hawaiian Islands much like Hurricane Lala, and later Hurricane Lowell did, so I thought a thread would be warranted for the hurricane.

Surigae is overachieving it seems. Models had it going around 945-952 mb, instead it is a 934 mb typhoon. It looked mediocre last night than wrapped up overnight very impressively.

Definitely a different storm than it’s 2021 counterpart, but this iteration seems like it wants to become a super typhoon like it’s 2021 iteration

With Tropical Depression Eighteen-E bring upgraded to Tropical Storm Rachel as of the 18Z ATCF update, this season becomes the second Pacific Hurricane Season in a row to reach 20 named storms, and it is the first occurrence of back to back seasons reaching 20 named storms since 2014 and 2015
