Severe WX Severe Weather Thread - 6/15/26 - 6/18/26

This in particular has nothing to do with how the cams are handling the forward speed of this MCS, because they’ve always have been too slow with things like cold fronts, squall lines, or anything that evolves mass response due to cold pooling.
In MCS, you have things like bowing segments and outflow boundaries cams simply can’t resolve that speed up the storm.
$50 million cut from studying climate systems means we don't have much info about this year's climate. $150,000,000 cut from observation and modeling means issues with models don't get improved or resolved, whether those issues are new or old.

This is true. Models have always been Crap and Misleading with MCSes. The big blah blah has no place in this thread.
If my lawn gets covered in weeds and looks like excrement, it's not "political" to say "it's probably because you stopped paying for lawn care." That's just the facts of the situation. The models aren't improving (and are getting worse) because we stopped paying for them. If saying that bothers people, they should get over it. I'm not going to censor myself to cater to the sensibilities of irrational people. Facts don't care about feelings.

I'm not being irrational. Please stop bringing the topic up. We all understand why it's because of. The NOAA cuts thread is exactly what this topic is for. It may be related, sure but really we don't need to be reminded of it for the hundredth time

Think the MCS is visibly weakening now.
Yea, quite substantially too. There’s a possibility that the southern portion of it once the warm fronts catches up with it that it will become surface based. That I can see the possibility of sig or even VI tors, along with back at the triple point.
The greatest tornado risk I’d put is east central IL.
