Severe Weather Threat 4/27-4/28

MEG told me last night that there wouldn't be severe thunderstorms out ahead of the main line across North MS tonight. Strange that we had two severe thunderstorm warnings across North MS earlier yesterday evening.

Some very fishy business ongoing near Dickson, Tennessee, west of Nashville. Supercell just had a merger and is moving almost due east towards the city's southern reaches.

Environment is long gone, I'd say past the midsouth version of the Barnsdall tornado this event bu$ted hard. Hope they troubleshoot some of the models cause I think even the SPC, based on the conservative convective forecasts, knew something was up.

It does seem to be fading but I'm more a learner than a knower on the subject.

I’m not sure north Alabama will even be in a watch later this morning. The Shoals was dropped from the Tornado Watch. Hoping for beneficial rain from this MCS.

These storms near Oxford back to Senatobia appear to be trying to get hook shapes to them

Great example that weather will always weather. Even with modern tech and AI weather will always be difficult to predict even day of. I agree that the SPC/NWS didn’t have a ton of confidence on yesterday’s event but the environment on models left them no to choice but to upgrade their predictions but they were hesitant to the end.
