Severe Weather Threat 4/27-4/28

The north West Plains, MO storm is getting intense. A strong meso extends upwards of 30k ft based on multiple radars. All three of the southern MO storms showed really impressive overshooting tops on satellite, and satellite images show the cloud tops continuing to get cooler. They are starting to get closer to each other, so it may be a race to see if they continue to stay more isolated or start to congeal together.

Not gonna lie, it would be fitting if we had this event evolve into a 3/14 after most of us closed the book on this event doing anything notable just so things make even less sense.
Shhh, don't let the fates hear that!:p

Be interesting to see what SPC does at 01Z. Maybe they'll keep a really narrow moderate for the ongoing supercells in MO, like Broyles did with the High on 5/20/19, specifically for the HP supercell west of Wichita Falls (which didn't actually produce any significant tornadoes).

...TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 830 PM CDT FOR
NORTHWESTERN CLINTON AND NORTHEASTERN SAINT CLAIR COUNTIES...

At 800 PM CDT, a tornado producing storm was located over Trenton, or
near New Baden, moving east at 40 mph.

HAZARD...Damaging tornado and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar confirmed tornado.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage
to roofs, windows and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is
likely.

This tornado will be near...
Aviston, Trenton, Albers and New Baden around 805 PM CDT.
Breese, Germantown and St. Rose around 810 PM CDT.
Beckemeyer around 820 PM CDT.

Other locations impacted by the tornado include Summerfield, Bartelso
and Stolletown.

This includes Interstate 64 in Illinois near exit 27.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a well-built building
away from windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a
vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself
from flying debris.

Heavy rainfall is hiding this tornado. Do not wait to see or hear the
tornado. Take cover now!
Took until 9:00 PM ET, but we finally have our first confirmed tornado of the event.

The winds are southerly near/ahead of those storms on observations.
Correct, but they’re not backed towards the storms, which definitely would’ve helped increase streamwiseness.
But storms seem to be overcoming this with the help of the nocturnal LLJ.

The north supercell looks like it’s about to drop one.

It's wild to look at the SPC Mesoanalysis page, see semi-discrete storms in an environment with effective STP values of 8-9, and know that none of them have gone bonkers yet. There is between 50-100 CIN evident when you switch to the fixed layer, but those southern MO cells are about to exit that into an area with little to no CIN.

The attachment issue desperately needs to get fixed. At least half the Imgur links people post don't even display for me. Just a blank white box with the Imgur logo in the corner, and if I follow the link, just a blank gray page that never loads anything else. Then for some reason, if someone happens to quote the post I can sometimes see them.
