This has the potential to be a more widespread event, especially from Atlanta westward. One contact I have at the NWS Atlanta hinted that blizzard warnings are not out of the question for ATL.We need our Met members to opine on this.
It has been awhile since ATL had a blizzard warning. I lived there in 1993 and it was a bit surreal. Lots of thunder snow too. Wow.This has the potential to be a more widespread event, especially from Atlanta westward. One contact I have at the NWS Atlanta hinted that blizzard warnings are not out of the question for ATL.

At this point , this should get better for us in Al as the day goes by.I think parts of northeast Alabama could need a blizzard warning.

Yes, the 16z hrrr at the end of the frame looks good. If the trend continues I see the possibility for a winter weather advisory for a big chunk of the NWS bham jurisdictionAt this point , this should get better for us in Al as the day goes by.
