Snow accumulating in Bedford County VA, temperature 15 degrees F

Been sustaining at 32 or lower all day. Precip is still falling. I now have a thin layer of ice on tree branches, metal poles, etc. nothing on brick steps or concrete driveway yet.

What’s going on with Ohio? We have zero snowfall/precipitation and it was forecasted to get here this afternoon. Temps aren’t even that low.

Also, fyi, I love how Weather Channel is forecasting 1-2 inches of just plain rain for me tonight and thru tomorrow with temperatures of 28 to 34 degrees. LOL!

I'm getting wildly different radar maps on where the snow, sleet, and rain zones are, using NWS national precip type, NWS local hydrometeor classification, Accuweather, The Weather Channel, and MyRadar.

I'm guessing NWS national precip type lumps snow and sleet together. Lots of contradictory data station to station on the NWS local hydrometeor map. There's a ton of very useful info between all the various NWS radar options, but it would be nice to have a simple snow/sleet/freezing rain/rain option instead of forced to go to the private websites for that.

Temps are dropping across Georgia as CAD brings frigid air down the base of the Appalachians. Freezing temps are creeping into the far northern parts of the state. A transition to freezing rain across much of North Georgia is anticipated tonight.

Who is getting the worst of this storm, and what are the totals so far? I’m just curious. I can’t seem to find a link.

Comparison of the available 00Z hi-res CAM suite, for the sake of posterity. I think HRRR will probably end up being the most accurate, though I certainly hope, for Mississippi's sake, those western accumulations are way overdone.
