Yeah, I was looking at radar image too. All those hooks. Whack 1999Those two January outbreaks heralded the start of a quite active winter to mid-spring tornado season for 1999, with frequent activity and quite a few higher-end outbreaks. It behaved similarly to 2008, although activity tapered off some after the May 3-5 outbreak (another sequence occurred in early June, but what was expected to be the biggest day, June 5, was cap FCAD'd).
That radar image reminds me a lot of March 14 of last year at its peak, except displaced slightly to the west.
