The number of missing is unclear but seems to be significant. It was described as "hundreds" at one point but as of the latest news conference is declared uncertain.

There was a similar incident back in the late 1980s in the same part of Texas where a flash flood overtook a camp bus at a church camp and swept away many teens on that bus.

oddly right now its somehow all spinning , there is no bookend vortex look at all yet all the cells are spinning around each other here.

The parent system causing all the flooding is the remnant of Tropical Storm Barry, I believe.
