Severe WX Severe Weather Threat 3/14-3/16

I'm still in shock at that run. We're looking at a multi-day and multi-state tornado outbreak. I, too, wouldn't be shocked to see back to back high risks issued. The unfortunate thing is I'm not convinced the 06z run is even properly handling the convection over North/Central Alabama. The UH streaks look a little less aggressive than what I think the storms will end up actually doing.

IF this run reflects close to reality we might be looking at a new Super Outbreak for the record books.

I went back and deleted some of my gloomier comments. Shocking is right.

but any outbreak is survivable. Helmet, shoe, and go bag messaging is great. What about shelters?
Dr. Craig CeeCee does a wonderful job of running findyourtornadoshelter.com ...there aren't community shelters in every county in the big threat zone, but there are a lot, and he has an interactive map with their locations.

Where are your biggest concern areas for tonight?
I can't look regionally. I just don't have the time or energy to look at the whole overall threat for everybody. I'm a chief at a local-level digital media outlet here, and I have to focus my energy on home given what's likely coming. I can speak to my local area here in northwest AL, southern middle TN, and northeast MS that I am concerned about one to three supercells 9p-6a with EF2+ potential.

Understandable

Using the link Fred mentioned, if 2011 taught our area of the south anything, many tornado shelters have been built in the past 10 years or so. This map is focused on north Alabama and Mississippi. I am about 15 miles north of Birmingham and there are 6 shelters within 10 miles of my location. In addition to these some churches and even schools will open for shelter use if needed.

I think this needs to be said, but in Alabama and Mississippi this Saturday, you should not be chasing tornadoes if your a newbie. This event is dangerous. I hope nobody thinks it'll be cool to storm chase that never has and ends up getting themselves killed because of our terrain or just because of silly mistakes. You should also be figuring out a plan and finding your local storm shelter

I'm trying to come up with the right words on what I'm thinking and my mind is just coming up blank. I couldn't imagine what it feels like for someone who lives there.
I pray this doesn't happen.
I have a huge nervous knot in my stomach. I'm about to head in for a 48 hour shift on a ambulance in the middle of it.

After waking up and reading this thread and seeing the new HRRR runs, I am absolutely dreading what could be in store this weekend. There really aren’t many other words that can be said other than the fact this is going to be a really terrible 24-48 hours for a lot of people in the dixie alley region. I am legitimately sick to my stomach for what could unfold this weekend.

That run was genuinely one of the most shocking runs I have ever seen.
